MALAYSIAN ESTATE AGENCY STANDARDS – ERRATA
We refer to the Malaysian Estate Agency Standards and will appreciate if you could make the following amendments :
Definition
(i) Delete the term ‘and includes a probationary estate agent’ in the definition of ‘estate agent’
(ii) A new definition for ‘probationary estate agent’ to be added after the definition of ‘principal’ which reads as -
‘probationary estate agent’ means a person who is registered with the Board as a ‘probationary estate agent and is required to comply and observe all the standards.
Forms
(i) To substitute Form MEAS 2 item 4 to read as -
"a fee of Malaysian Ringgit ………………………equivalent to ……………. Month’s rent".
(ii) To substitute Form MEAS 3 item 6 to read as -
"This appointment is given to you in * my/our capacity as the prospective purchaser".
(iii) To substitute Form MEAS 4 item 6 to read as -
"this appointment is given to you in * my/our capacity as the prospective tenant".
(iv) To add in Forms MEAS 1 to MEAS 4, a new paragraph to read as -
" * I/We …………………………..(Registration Number of Estate Agent/ Registration Number of Firm) acknowledge and accept the above appointment".
