PAYMENTS TO PROPERTY MANAGERS/ PERSONS-IN-CHARGE OF CONDOMINIUM BLOCKS

It has come to the attention of the Board, by way of complaints from estate agents that there are instances where property managers or persons-in-charge of managing condominium blocks insist from estate agents payments for allowing estate agents to conduct estate agency viz-a-viz units within the block.

Alternatively such managers or persons-in-charge show preferences towards estate agents who agree to in fact give inducements.

Such demands by property managers or persons-in-charge are acts of corruption and/or unethical and estate agents are advised to report to the Board the occurrence of such practices so that the Board can take the necessary action, if necessary with the relevant authorities.
