Service Tax - Abolishment Of The Threshold

Please be informed that therecent announcement on the budget 2008 saw the abolishment of the RM150,000 threshold for service tax for the profressional services.

The implication of the abolishment is that now all services are subjected to service tax beginning 1st January 2008 regardless as to whether yo have reached the threshold of RM150,000. In view of the aforesaid, all registered firms are legally obligated to registed with Custom & Excise Malaysia and obtain their licences.

Registrants are advised to apply for your license early in order to avoid unnecessary delay in issuing same by the relevant authority.
