Forged Valuation Report

The Board has recently received a number of complaints from Valuers informing it that their valuation reports have been forged by unknown parties.

As this is of considerable concern to the Board as well as to the profession it would like to warn all valuation firms of this unhealthy culture and advise all registrants to take all necessary precaution in order to avoid untoward incidences in future. As a preventive measure monitor all your valuation reports by serialising your reports. Similarly, use watermarked papers for your reports. It would also be prudent practice to advise clients to counter check with your firm if they suspect something is amiss.

All valuers and appraisers are advised to lodge police reports forthwith if such incidences are brought to their attention.
